British, 1917 - 1984Robert Adams was a sculptor of large abstract works as well as being an accomplished print maker. He studied, in 1933, at the Northampton School of Art. His sculpture was influenced by Brancusi and Gonzalez. He taught sculpture at the Central School of Arts and Crafts from 1949 till 1960. He was recognized internationaly and many of his works are in important public collections including the Tate Gallery, London. |
