French, b.1904Encouraged by his mother, Estève went to develop his evident artistic talents in Paris, where he did not receive any formal training, frequenting the <|>Académies libres|> of Montparnasse. Influenced by past painters such as Ucello, and by more contemporary ones, in particular Bonnard, Estève was always a unique talent, despite working with others such as Robert Delaunay, Borès, and Lapicque. After the second World War, his style moved increasingly towards the abstract and his work has featured in several important galleries across the world. Estève produced an important number of lithographs and also illustrated some texts, such as <|>Le Tombeau de mon Père|> by his friend, the poet André Frénaud. |
