a proof before letters for a poster designed for the publishers, Petersburg Press
on white cartridge paper, laminated with acetate film to which is bonded elements in silver foil; these replicate the three shapes in the lower panel of the original Duchamp work The Large Glass(see below)
the edition is unknown and there were more than one colour variations as well as a monochrome version; the editioned posters had text printed on the on the front and reverse;
in excellent condition

in 1966 Hamilton reconstructed Duchamp's famous 1915 work The Bride Stripped Bare by her Bachelors, Even also known as The Large Glass for the Tate Gallery Duchamp retrospective, as the original was too fragile to be moved from its home, the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Duchamp was in London to collaborate in this project and Hamilton took this photograph of Duchamp (holding a large sheet of glass) at his studio in Hurst Avenue in Highgate
